Lisa is a
founding shareholder of The
Whetstone Group, Inc. Whetstone provides growth-consulting services to
professional service firms.
Whetstone's clients include CPA firms, banks, architecture firms and business
consulting firms nationwide. For these clients, Lisa facilitates growth planning
sessions, develops comprehensive marketing and sales plans, provides ongoing
consultation on the implementation of these plans, and manages the Whetstone
resources who provide marketing services. This includes telephone lead generation,
copywriting, sales tracking and database management. In addition to her client
service responsibility, Lisa manages the overall daily operations of the firm
including business development, client service and firm administration.
Before joining Whetstone, Lisa was the National Director of Marketing for
RSM McGladrey, Inc. where she managed the firm's direct marketing department.
This included overseeing the development and implementation of a national
customer/prospect database and contact management system, and managing the
lead generation department, which developed direct mail programs and conducted
telemarketing campaigns to set appointments with executives in the firm's
target prospect companies.
As a member of the national marketing organization's management team, Lisa
was also responsible for developing marketing programs for the firm's national
manufacturing organization, including the first national direct marketing
campaign, managing the marketing research function for the firm, and managing
the marketing planning and implementation activities for three of the firm's
business units.
Lisa has been a professional marketer since 1982. Prior to joining RSM McGladrey in 1997, she served in marketing management roles for companies in the consumer software, dental equipment and credit information services industries. She has a variety of experience in the marketing area for companies in both the consumer and business-to-business arenas. Lisa was awarded her Masters in Business Administration from the University of California in 1988.
An expert presenter, Lisa can guide her audience through diverse marketing and sales topics. She has been a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars including the Association for Accounting Marketing's Annual Summit, RSM McGladrey Network's Annual Forum, Legal Marketing Association's Midwest Conference and numerous conferences for The Alliance of Professional Associations. She has also been quoted in CPA Marketing Report, RSM McGladrey Network's NetWorks Newsletter and published in the Association for Accounting Marketing's MarkeTrends, Professional Marketing and CPA Practice Management Forum.
