Lisa is a founding shareholder of The Whetstone Group, Inc. Whetstone provides growth consulting services to CPA firms, professional service firms and companies in business-to-business markets nationwide. To help clients focus and grow their top line, Lisa facilitates growth planning sessions, develops comprehensive marketing and sales plans, provides ongoing consulting to help clients implement marketing and sales activities, and conducts business development training courses to help improve the ROI on their efforts.
In addition, Lisa manages Whetstone staff to provide outsourced marketing services that are often difficult for clients to produce internally, such as telephone lead generation, copywriting, database management and materials development.
Before founding The Whetstone Group, Lisa was the National Director of Marketing for RSM McGladrey, a national CPA firm. Her responsibilities at McGladrey included managing a national database and telephone lead generation team to provide direct marketing services to the McGladrey offices across the country, as well as working with several of those offices and firm-wide practices to develop and implement their strategic business development plans.
Lisa has been a professional marketer since 1982. Prior to joining RSM McGladrey in 1997, she served in marketing management roles for companies in both business-to-business and consumer targeted industries, including consumer software, dental equipment, automobile and credit information services. Lisa was awarded her Masters in Business Administration from the University of California in 1988. Her undergraduate business degree with marketing emphasis was completed in 1982 from the University of Southern California.
As a seasoned and engaging presenter, Lisa can guide her audience through diverse marketing and sales topics. She has been a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars including the Association for Accounting Marketing's Annual Summit, RSM McGladrey Network's Annual Forum, the AICPA Marketing Conference, the Legal Marketing Association's Midwest Conference, The Firm Foundation's Partner Summit and several seminars for the Alliance for Professional Associations.
Recognized for her experience marketing professional services, Lisa has been published in the Association for Accounting Marketing's MarkeTrends, the Society for Marketing Professional Services' Marketer and the RSM McGladrey Network's NetWorks newsletter; she also provided a chapter for the Marketing Handbook for Design and Construction Professionals.
